As in Figure 17, this succession of moves has been simplified for the purposes of illustration.

The East couple joins the South couple and forms an ocean wave. Meanwhile, the West couple joins the North couple and forms an ocean wave.
Dancers in both ocean waves swing through. Meanwhile, the pitch classes in the Northeast and Southwest corners circulate 180 degrees.
The pair of dancers on the East end of the South ocean wave step into the East side of the square formation. Meanwhile, the pair of dancers on the West end of the North ocean wave step into the West side of the square formation.
