POSITION: Visiting Assistant Professor of Theory for Spring 2006

STARTING DATE: January 8, 2006

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: Completed Ph.D. or ABD in Music Theory, university teaching experience at undergraduate level required, at graduate level preferred; demonstrated excellence or clear promise of ability in music theory research.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Division of Music Theory and Composition at the University of Maryland, College Park seeks a scholar of established reputation or exceptional promise whose interests complement the specializations of our current faculty. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach courses in Western music theory at the undergraduate level and to direct a graduate seminar in music theory in their research specialty. The faculty member is expected to participate fully in the Division and School of Music.
