School of Music at Eastern New Mexico University POSITION: Piano/Technology/Theory/Accompanying RANK: Assistant Professor, Tenure Track SALARY: Dependent upon training and experience QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate required; proven performance ability and experience in teaching studio and class piano; evidence of expertise in MIDI and electronic technology essential; demonstrated ability to accompany; and, ability to teach introductory theory courses. DUTIES: Candidate will be expected to teach studio and class piano; provide leadership in latest technological MIDI and electronic advancements; perform regularly scheduled recitals as soloist and accompanist; and, teach introductory courses in theory. The School of Music at Eastern New Mexico University has a student body of 100 music majors with 16 faculty. Undergraduate degrees are offered in music theory and composition, and music business (also in various other music areas) while a Master of Music in music education is also offered. A unit of the College of Fine Arts, the School of Music is housed in a well-equipped building and is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. ENMU has a current enrollment of approximately 4,000 students and is situated on a 450 acre campus in Portales, New Mexico, a rural community of some 12,000 people. The University serves a wide geographical area in eastern New Mexico and west Texas, a location known for year round mild climates.
