Ithaca College School of Music (Music Theory) The Ithaca College School of Music announces two five-year, full-time, non-tenure-eligible positions in music theory at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in fall 1998. Annual appointments are renewable up to the fifth year. Teaching duties will include undergraduate theory and analysis, twentieth-century analysis, sight singing and ear training courses, and possible upper-level or graduate courses in analysis and counterpoint. Qualifications: completed doctorate in music theory, full-time college teaching experience (at least one year beyond graduate assistant level), and evidence of potential for scholarship are preferred. Master's degree required. Candidates must have a firm commitment to undergraduate teaching. For one of the positions, expertise in computer-assisted instruction and music technology is required.
