QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in theory or theory-composition required (ABDconsidered but doctorate necessary for rank of assistant professor);strong background and successful teaching of upper- and lower-levelaural skills at the college level required; background or research inmusic theory pedagogy preferred; keyboard skills to effectively fulfillteaching responsibilities required: background in technology that willallow for leadership in developing and applying pedagogical applicationsto the aural comprehension/theory curriculum required; potential for orevidence of professional accomplishment required. The successfulcandidate will be expected to have strong interpersonal andcommunication skills, as well as maintain an active career in his or herprofession.
JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach core courses in auralcomprehension and theory. Advancing the aural comprehension and coremusic curriculum through the development and application of pedagogy andtechnology. Teaching of upper division theory courses/or compositionconsidered. Actively contribute to the life of the School of Music. Other assignments to be determined by the needs of the School and thequalifications of the applicant.
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
