Recomposition. Stravinsky’s music in this block deviates most sharply from tonal norms, and thus requires the most creative effort to recapture an only dimly perceptible underlying model. Stravinsky’s melody strongly suggests the key of E minor, which my hypothetical harmonization realizes (in contrast to Stravinsky’s immovable B pedal). Block 7 thus marks a sharp break with the rest of the music.
