Institution: New England Conservatory of Music Position: Music Theory Qualifications: - PhD or DMA preferred. - Demonstrated experience in college-level teaching in fixed-do solfege. - Special consideration to be given to candidates who have additional experience teaching other theory courses at the undergraduate level (core and/or elective). - Demonstrated ability to connect theory and musicianship to performance, composition, and/or conducting. - A record, recent and ongoing, of scholarly or compositional activity, including publications and/or recordings. Job Description/Responsibilities: The Music Theory Department of New England Conservatory of Music seeks a qualified person to teach potential professional musicians, with special emphasis on undergraduate musicianship, including sight singing and ear training through fixed-do solfege, as well as other undergraduate and graduate theory courses as necessary.
