Institution: St. Olaf College Position: Tenure-Track Flute/Theory Position General Information: Tenure-track appointment, beginning September 1, 2010, with rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Qualifications: Within the context of a liberal arts education, the successful candidate will teach flute performance studies to music majors, including BM performance, and non-music majors, and courses in theory/aural skills. Other responsibilities will include coaching chamber ensembles, assisting with coordination, organization, and recruitment in the woodwind area, and academic advising. Opportunities may arise to teach related courses within the department or in the candidate's area of expertise. Job Description/Responsibilities: Doctorate preferred. Excellent performing skills and proven record of success in teaching flute to undergraduate students. Demonstrated successful experience in teaching music theory and aural skills to undergraduate students. Commitment to liberal arts education and to the college’s mission. Ability to contribute to the wider aims of the department.
