Institution: Oklahoma City University Position: Assistant Professor General Information: The Bass School of Music at OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Music Theory (tenure track), to begin August 16, 2010. Qualifications: A PhD in Music Theory is required at the time of appointment. Knowledge and experience in the application of technology to the teaching of music theory and aural skills, and a strong commitment to the teaching of undergraduate students is expected. Job Description/Responsibilities: We welcome a variety of interests and specializations within the field of music theory. The successful candidate will be teaching the undergraduate music theory and aural skills sequence, upper-level undergraduate courses and graduate level music theory courses. Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to participate in the department’s assessment program, and in student recruiting and retention efforts for the department and the university, advise students, and will participate in faculty meetings and other university service endeavors. Effective teaching, scholarship and service are required for tenure and promotion.
