Institution: Agnes Scott College Position: Assistant Professor General Information: The Agnes Scott College Department of Music invites applications for a tenure-track position in music theory at the rank of assistant professor to begin Fall 2011. Qualifications: Doctorate in music theory or music composition is required and should be completed by July 2011. We seek a candidate with evidence of a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and scholarly/creative activity, as well as knowledge of computer applications in music. Applicants with strengths in CAI, composition, or other related areas are encouraged to apply. A demonstrable knowledge of and interest in music from under-represented groups (women and minorities) and from outside the Western canon is desired. Job Description/Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate music theory courses, oversee music theory lab, teach a first year seminar or senior seminar as needed and participate in the musical and academic life of the department and the college.
