Institution: University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance Position: Full or Associate Professor General Information: With tenure, full time beginning 9/1/11. Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in Music Theory or terminal degree in an allied field; a distinguished record of scholarship and extensive collegiate teaching experience; exemplary musicianship and pedagogy. Job Description/Responsibilities: In addition to administrative responsibilities, the incoming chair will be expected to teach a full range of courses, including rotation through all levels of the undergraduate core curriculum, upper-level electives, and graduate courses as appropriate to her or his areas of interest and expertise; and direct graduate research through independent studies and dissertation supervision. The candidate will be expected to vigorously pursue research in areas of music theory that would complement those currently represented in the department.
