Institution: Bowling Green State University Position: Assistant Professor General Information: Tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in music theory, starting August 2011. Qualifications: Qualified applicants must have a Ph.D. in music theory by May 2012; demonstrated success as a teacher of both theory and aural skills at the college/university level; classroom keyboard competence; demonstrated research ability in tonal analysis as evidenced by significant publications, presentations, and participation in professional organizations, with secondary expertise in post-tonal analysis desirable. Job Description/Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate theory and aural skills and graduate-level theory courses; recruiting and mentoring graduate students; and contributing to the artistic and intellectual environment of the college and the university. Additional duties may be assigned by the department chair and/or dean. Salary Range: The salary is competitive and commensurate with peer institution levels for rank and position, and in keeping with the candidate’s experience and credentials.
