Position: Assistant or Associate Professor

General Information:

The Faculty of Music, University of Toronto, invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream position in Music Theory. This appointment will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor and will begin July 1, 2011.

Qualifications:

A completed Ph.D. is required. Evidence of excellence in teaching and professional achievements is required.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Candidates specializing in any area of music theory will be considered. The committee especially encourages applications that complement our existing strengths in tonal and post-tonal theory and analysis. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, perception and cognition; analysis of world, popular, or jazz musics; performance studies; and interdisciplinary approaches. Responsibilities will include research and publication, undergraduate and graduate teaching, dissertation advising, and university service.

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
