Institution: Roosevelt University, Chicago College of Performing Arts, Music Conservatory Position: Assistant Professor of Core Music Studies, tenure-track General Information: Position Title: Assistant Professor of Core Music Studies, tenure-track Start date: 8/15/11. Qualifications: An earned doctorate in music is required. A broad range of repertory and teaching interests within the Western art music tradition is essential. Secondary expertise in one or more of the following is desirable: world music, ethnomusicology, performance practice, courses for the non-major, early music, popular music. Continued excellence in teaching and a record of scholarly accomplishment are required for reappointment and tenure. Job Description/Responsibilities: We seek a versatile teacher and scholar with proven background and success in teaching skills-based musicianship courses. The Assistant Professor will teach written and aural skills within an integrated musicianship curriculum. The remainder of the teaching assignment is flexible, and will include courses in music literature or analysis at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
