Institution: Binghamton University (SUNY/Binghamton) Position: Assistant Professor-Music Theory General Information: Full-time, tenure-track, appointment date September 1, 2012. Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Theory or Composition by date of appointment. Record of successful teaching in theory and musicianship, working/teaching experience with computer-assisted instruction, strong keyboard skills, and a desire to teach qualified non-majors along with music majors and music minors. Job Description/Responsibilities: Teach courses in the undergraduate four-semester theory/musicianship sequence and graduate theory courses; additional assignments, in theory and/or composition, according to departmental need, or based on the candidate’s interests and experiences. All faculty are expected to supervise independent studies, serve on communities, assist in recruitment, be a committed and visible participant in the events of the department as a whole, and be active in research, performance, and/or creative endeavors.
