Position: Assistant Professor

General Information:

The Department of Music at Lebanon Valley College seeks a tenure-track assistant professor of music theory and composition.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in music required, doctorate preferred; experience teaching undergraduate written theory and aurals courses and composition lessons; evidence of a promising career as a composer; excellent aural skills; functional piano skills; and the ability to use digital technologies (computer-assisted instruction, notation, and sequencing software applications). Please mention any experience or ability to teach in a secondary area.


Job Description/Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will teach written theory and analysis courses, aural skills courses, and composition lessons. He or she also will advise a cohort of undergraduate music majors and maintain an active composing portfolio. Qualifications: Master's degree in music required, doctorate preferred; experience teaching undergraduate written theory and aurals courses and composition lessons; evidence of a promising career as a composer; excellent aural skills; functional piano skills; and the ability to use digital technologies (computer-assisted instruction, notation, and sequencing software applications).
