Institution: City University London Position: Research Assistant General Information: The music informatics group is looking for a Research Assistant (doctoral or post-doc) to work in the area of e-learning, music, and multimedia in the European research project I-Maestro. The post is fixed-term for 12 months and extensible to 24 months. Qualifications: The applicant should have skills in computer programming and music (especially theory and education, ideally for string instruments) with a Master's or PhD qualification in one of these subjects. Experience in software development and applied research is desirable, preferably in musical e-learning and object oriented software development. Job Description/Responsibilities: The role involves cooperation with leading European research institutes from France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and the UK. It will also involve work in the context of MPEG standardisation of Symbolic Music Representation.
