Institution: University of Missouri Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Music Theory General Information: Tenure line. Full-time, benefit-eligible. Date of appointment: August 2013. Qualifications: Applicants must have a completed Ph.D. by May 2013, have a growing documented record of innovative and successful teaching, and clearly have demonstrated prominence in the field of music theory. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with faculty on curriculum development and assessment, to advise master's theses and DMA documents, to maintain scholarly productivity, and to serve on committees that contribute to the Conservatory and University. Job Description/Responsibilities: The University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance seeks a tenure-line faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to lead and further develop a dynamic undergraduate music theory core curriculum, including aural skills, beginning in August 2013. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, evidence of a sustained record of scholarly production in music theory and/or theory pedagogy, and interest in contributing to the intellectual rigor of a performance-oriented community. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to create and teach undergraduate and graduate-level theory classes. Salary Range: Rank and tenure will be commensurate with qualifications and professional profile.
