Institution: University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Position: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Music Theory and Composition General Information: Tenure-track Starting Date: September 1, 2013 Qualifications: Requirements: Doctorate in music theory or composition by September 2013. Evidence of successful undergraduate classroom teaching in music theory. Evidence of potential for significant scholarly and/or creative work. A record of performances, commissions, and/or publications of original compositions. Preferences: Preference to candidates with composition and/or teaching experience in concert music and one or more of the following (or other related areas): Jazz, Electronic Music, Popular/Commercial Music, and music incorporating other media (film music, etc.). Job Description/Responsibilities: Responsibilities: Teach music theory and aural skills in the department's core curriculum including Form and Analysis and Instrumentation/Orchestration. Teach in and coordinate the composition emphasis of the B.A. Music degree. Continued professional development, active student recruitment, and student advising expected.
