Institution: Texas Christian University Position: Assistant Professor - Music Theory/Composition (fulltime, tenure-track) General Information: Date of Appointment: August 2014 Qualifications: Doctorate or ABD with college level teaching experience required. Doctorate required by the tenure decision. Masters degree and significant progress toward doctorate required upon appointment. Record of accomplishment as a teacher of music literacy, especially in the areas of harmony and aural skills for 1st and 2nd year students. Since the School of Music is dedicated to modeling for, as well as developing, well-rounded musicians, preference will be given to applicants possessing skills in a secondary applied area such as composition or performance. Promise for national recognition as a scholar/researcher or composer. Job Description/Responsibilities: Teach music theory/composition at the undergraduate and graduate levels; other courses according to the needs of the department and the candidate\'s interests as assigned by the Director of the School of Music; participate in professional and departmental activities appropriate for a faculty member at a major research university.
