Institution: Soochow University School of Music (Suzhou, China) Position: Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology General Information: The School of Music at the Soochow University (Suzhou, China) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology, with a starting date of fall 2014. Qualifications: Required: completed doctorate at the time of application in Ethnomusicology or related field. Preferred area of specialization in Chinese Music or East Asian Music. The successful candidate will be an outstanding scholar with the promise of significant contribution to the field and will lead and develop an undergraduate and graduate curriculum in ethnomusicology. Demonstrated excellence in teaching desired. Earned Ph.D required. All courses taught in English. Job Description/Responsibilities: Duties will include introductory courses in world music for music majors and non-majors, undergraduate and graduate seminars in ethnomusicology, and thesis advising for graduate students.
