Institution: Soochow University School of Music (China, Suzhou) Position: Assistant Professor of Composition General Information: Soochow University (Suzhou, China) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Composition in its newly established School of Music. Qualifications: Earned Ph.D. or DMA required (ABD considered though degree must be completed by August 1, 2014). Job Description/Responsibilities: Responsibilities include: teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in Composition, Theory, and Ear Training, and advising graduate students. Develop courses related to area of specialty, such as jazz, film music, technology, music business, etc. Other duties may be assigned depending on the candidate’s qualifications and departmental needs. The successful candidate will be an outstanding composer with significant contribution to the field and will help lead and develop an undergraduate and graduate curriculum. Demonstrated excellence in teaching desired. All courses taught in English. Salary Range: Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualification and experience.
