Qualifications:

A Doctoral degree in Composition or Theory

· Evidence of a robust creative activity agenda in composition which is validated by national colleagues or through a publication record

· Demonstrated success and training in aural skills, theory and composition pedagogy

· Evidence of leadership in curriculum innovation for theory and composition (preferred)

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply for the position of Assistant Professor of Music in music theory and composition, full-time, tenure track.

You will have the opportunity to:

· Teach courses in music theory and composition

· Coordinate the work and curriculum of the music theory area

· Serve as the advisor for all music composition majors

· Participate in departmental activities and committee work

· Cultivate working relationships with area, regional and national public school teachers of AP Music Theory
