Qualifications: Ph.D. or D.M.A. in Music Theory or Composition should be in hand by start of employment; demonstrable record of teaching excellence at undergraduate level. Job Description/Responsibilities: The Department of Art History and Music of Fordham University seeks a composer-theorist with a specialization in jazz to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Aug. 1, 2014. Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in traditional music theory as well as more advanced courses in jazz theory, arranging, and composition. Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. or D.M.A. degree by the start of employment and have a demonstrable record of excellence in undergraduate university teaching.
