Institution: State University of New York-Fredonia Position: Lecturer General Information: SUNY Fredonia's School of Music seeks a music theorist to serve as a Lecturer starting in August 2014. This is a three-year, renewable, non-tenure track position. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Completed Ph.D. in music theory and knowledge of appropriate pedagogies; A demonstrated high level of musicianship and a record of promising research in music theory; Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the needs of diverse learners; Demonstrated experience and effectiveness with instructional technologies. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Excellent classroom keyboard skills and thorough knowledge of 19th century harmonic theories are preferred; Training/experience with Dalcroze eurhythmics and neo-Riemannian analysis. Job Description/Responsibilities: 2014. The successful candidate will: Teach undergraduate theory, aural skills and analysis courses as well as selected courses at the master’s level.
