Position: Visiting Assistant Professor in Composition

One-year appointment

Qualifications:

Doctorate in Music required. Doctorate must be completed by fall of 2014. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level desirable.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Teach two courses each semester. These will include Composition II and Introduction to Music Theory and two additional elective courses. A complete listing of courses and their descriptions can be viewed at http://catalog.williams.edu/.

The Music Department has 11 full-time faculty and approximately 30 part-time Artist Associates. The Department maintains an active musical life with over 100 events each year including those by the Berkshire Symphony, Concert and Chamber Choirs, Jazz Ensemble, Zambezi Marimba Band, Kusika, Williams Wind Ensemble, Williams Chamber Players, I/O New Music, Student Symphony, student chamber groups, and visiting artists and ensembles.
