Institution: Mansfield University Position: Music & Music Technology General Information: Teach music theory and aural skills classes for undergraduate music majors and courses in music technology for students enrolled in the BM: Emphasis in Music Technology program. Commitment to student recruitment and attendance at Music Department auditions. Possibility for continued employment. Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Music Theory, Composition, or Technology from a regionally accredited (or foreign equivalent) university; prior teaching experience; and completion of a successful campus interview that will include a demonstration of skills including a presentation of recent scholarly activity and a teaching demonstration. Additional Qualifications Ability to adapt to changing technologies that support teaching and learning; strong communication skills (both verbal and written); ability to work collaboratively with others; ability to teach, evaluate and advise students; evidence of relevant scholarly activity; and demonstration, through past accomplishments and behaviors, of the ability to support Mansfield University’s principles and values of Character, Scholarship, Culture, Service (http://www1.mansfield.edu/mansfield-creed) and the University’s strong student-centered vision and mission. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate Degree and evidence of successful college teaching experience. Experience with music notation, music sequencing, and recording software (such as Pro Tools). Experience teaching a music business curriculum.
