Institution: University of Oregon Position: Assistant Professor of Music Theory and Musicianship General Information: Tenure-track appointment. STARTING DATE: September 16, 2015 Qualifications: Doctorate in music or ABD required by Fall 2015. Evidence of significant scholarship in music theory and excellence in teaching at the college level. We seek candidates with the demonstrated potential to contribute effectively to a faculty team dedicated to creating a positive, dynamic, and inclusive learning environment for an increasingly diverse student population. Job Description/Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities for the position will be to teach undergraduate courses in written theory, aural skills, keyboard skills, and/or analysis and to teach graduate courses and seminars in music theory. In addition, candidates will advise graduate and undergraduate research projects including theses and dissertations. Additional duties dependent upon qualifications and interests of the applicant and the needs of the school. Maintain an active program of appropriate research and scholarly and creative activity including publication in music theory. Participate actively in core curriculum development. Serve on committees and perform other appropriate university service. Salary Range: Salary commensurate with training and experience.
