Position: Assistant Professor of Composition

Qualifications:

Doctorate in composition (ABD will be considered if the degree will be completed by July 1, 2015) or equivalent. Strong background in either digital/electronic music or music theory; all compositional styles and approaches welcome.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Teach courses and private instruction in composition at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Assist in mentoring graduate students and furthering all programs in composition, including recruiting, advising, supervising doctoral and masters projects.
Maintain an active creative and research agenda.
The winning candidate will either direct UGA’s electronic music studio, The Roger and Phyllis Dancz Center for New Music (http://noise.uga.edu), or will teach music theory in addition to composition
Other duties as assigned
