Institution: University of Georgia Position: Assistant Professor General Information: Full-time, tenure-track, starting August 2015. Qualifications: Doctorate in composition (ABD will be considered if the degree will be completed by July 1, 2015) or equivalent. Strong background in either digital/electronic music or music theory; all compositional styles and approaches welcome. Job Description/Responsibilities: • Teach courses and private instruction in composition at the graduate and undergraduate levels. • Assist in mentoring graduate students and furthering all programs in composition, including recruiting, advising, supervising doctoral and masters projects. • Maintain an active creative and research agenda. • The winning candidate will either direct UGA’s electronic music studio, The Roger and Phyllis Dancz Center for New Music (http://noise.uga.edu), or will teach music theory in addition to composition • Other duties as assigned Salary Range: Salary commensurate with credentials, experience, and reputation.
