The PhD degree is required by the time of appointment. Prior teaching experience at the college or university level is desirable. Job Description/Responsibilities: The Department of Music at the University of California, Irvine, seeks to appoint a new colleague in musicology who will complement and extend the research interests of current members of the faculty. We are especially keen to receive applications from those whose scholarship embraces cultural or critical theory and from those with teaching competency in music theory and analysis. All outstanding applicants, however, will be given full consideration regardless of their areas of expertise. The new appointee will play a key role in the Department?s development of a graduate program in musicology.
