Institution: Albion College Position: Assistant Professor of Music General Information: Tenure track Qualifications: The position requires the completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent before the time of appointment. Prior university or college teaching experience in music theory and associated keyboard skills are required; experience in liberal arts colleges is desired. Interest in teaching interdisciplinary courses that contribute to the college community and general interest in teaching at a small liberal arts college are also required. Job Description/Responsibilities: The Department of Music at Albion College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor beginning in August 2016. Teaching is at the heart of our mission, and we're committed to building student-mentoring relationships. We're looking for faculty who can teach dynamic courses in music theory, from beginning through advanced, and associated keyboard skills. The successful candidate will have a 3/3 teaching load. Additional teaching responsibilities will be determined according to the interests and qualifications of the applicant, and may include World Music, Composition, Studio Piano, Music Appreciation, Special Topics Seminars, First Year Seminars and courses in the Honors Program.
