Institution: Shenandoah Conservatory Position: Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Theory General Information: The Shenandoah Conservatory at Shenandoah University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music for the 2016–2017 academic year, with a start date of August 16, 2016. The successful candidate will be encouraged to apply for the career-contract track position of Assistant Professor of Music beginning August 16, 2017. Qualifications: A Ph.D. in music theory completed by August 16, 2016, demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level, interest in contributing to a highly intensive and collaborative conservatory community, and a promising scholarly profile evidenced by a record of conference presentations or publications. Job Description/Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will be teaching undergraduate courses in music theory and ear training. As a full-time faculty member, the Visiting Assistant Professor will be expected to participate in service to the program area and the Conservatory, and will have access to faculty development support.
