Institution: University of Waterloo Position: Full-time regular faculty position General Information: The position is based in Conrad Grebel University College’s Music Department, which is the Music Department of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Waterloo. This is a regular, full-time, tenure-track position that involves undergraduate teaching, scholarship, service, and community education. The core teaching area is Music Theory which includes direction and oversight of the music theory program and courses in music theory. In addition, teaching may include composition, music and technology, or other courses such as psychology of music, popular music, jazz, worship and music, music and film, and world music as appropriate to the faculty member’s interests and expertise. Qualifications: 1. A completed doctorate in Music Theory or in Composition with specialized studies in Music Theory. 2. Demonstrated potential for an active program of scholarship in Music Theory and/or Composition. 3. Demonstrated excellence in post-secondary teaching. 4. Ability to teach in an interdisciplinary setting. 5. An understanding of and commitment to the identity, mission, and core values of Conrad Grebel University College, a Mennonite college at the University of Waterloo, home of the University’s Music Department. 6. Willingness to share administrative duties within the Department and the College. 7. Willingness and ability to engage in public education and community service.
