Institution: Moores School of Music, University of Houston Position: Assistant Professor of Music Theory General Information: The Moores School of Music seeks candidates for a tenure-track position in Music Theory at the Assistant Professor level, for appointment September 1, 2017. Qualifications: Applicants should have a completed Ph.D. in music theory. Evidence of scholarly achievement and successful teaching experience are essential. Job Description/Responsibilities: Applicants should be prepared to (a) teach in the freshman/sophomore theory and aural skills program; (b) teach undergraduate and graduate electives in music theory; (c) direct graduate research projects and provide mentoring for music theory TAs; and (d) pursue an active program of scholarly research and publication in Music Theory. Applicants in all research areas of music theory are encouraged to apply.
