Evidence of outstanding artistry as a composer required. Previous college/university experience preferred. Job Description/Responsibilities: RESPONSIBILITIES – The Ohio University School of Music invites applications for a tenure-track composition/theory position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in academic year 2017-18. The successful candidate is expected to build an international reputation and a prolific portfolio along with substantial public performances and recordings. Responsibilities will include both undergraduate and graduate level applied composition, composition-based coursework including electroacoustic media/interactive software, advising master’s theses, undergraduate theory courses using current pedagogical trends, and student mentoring. Overarching duties will include curricular development with a commitment to recruiting, national visibility of the program, and addressing the educational needs of a diverse student population. Candidate must maintain an appropriate level of research/creative activity. Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience.
