Job Description/Responsibilities: Elon University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Aural Skills, beginning mid-August, 2017. The successful candidate will demonstrate a significant and sustained collegiate teaching agenda as a specialist in aural skills with demonstrated evidence of considerable, successful teaching in aural skills to college students from a variety of musical backgrounds and abilities. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Music, demonstrated keyboard skills, and will communicate the value of aural skills to students considering a range of career paths. These classes are the first point of contact between the Department and its majors and as such the candidate must exhibit strong interpersonal skills. Teaching duties will include aural skills courses with the possibility of teaching music theory and courses in the Elon Core Curriculum.
