Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
• Earned Ph.D., D.M.A. or appropriate terminal degree
• Two years experience teaching music theory at the collegiate level

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The School of Music at Portland State University seeks applicants for a nine-month, full time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice (Music Theory) position in the School of Music to begin September 16, 2017. The successful candidate will teach music theory at the undergraduate and graduate levels and oversee our musicianship curriculum. Other duties will be assigned to fulfill the School’s needs. The appointment will also entail service to the School and University.

Salary Range: The starting annual salary rate for this position will be dependent upon qualifications and experience with an excellent benefits package including 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities.
