Job Description/Responsibilities: The University of Alabama in Huntsville seeks a Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Music Theory for Fall 2017. The successful candidate will be able to teach undergraduate theory and aural skills from introductory through advanced levels, arranging/orchestration, form and analysis, as well as other assigned courses consistent with interest, expertise, and departmental need, including online and hybrid courses as needed or assigned. Secondary areas of expertise that are desirable include contemporary music, entrepreneurship, music business, popular music, new music ensemble, music appreciation, and/or performance. The candidate will actively pursue scholarship and/or performance opportunities in the field while participating in student recruitment, department service, and community outreach.
