Institution: The University of Alabama Position: Instructor General Information: The School of Music at the University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time temporary Instructor of Music Theory. This position is a non-tenure earning, 1-year appointment. Qualifications: Ph.D. in music theory; Ph.D. candidates currently working on dissertations will be considered. Successful college teaching experience is required. Job Description/Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be capable of teaching a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate music theory courses each semester. In addition, supervision of graduate teaching assistants who teach the musicianship components of select courses may also be required. Anticipated course load: 15 credit hours per semester (typically 3 to 4 courses).
