Institution: Kansas City Kansas Community College Position: Full-Time Faculty - Music General Information: Position available Fall Semester, 2017 FLSA STATUS: Exempt Qualifications: Requirements, qualifications and experience: > Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Music > Experience in teaching Music Theory or Music Fundamentals Preferred qualifications and experience: > Community College or Liberal Arts teaching experience > Professional musical experience > Experience teaching jazz improvisation > Record of recruiting students > Working understanding of popular music and/or jazz history > Experience with songwriting and arranging > Experience in developing a vibrant youth program The successful candidate will have experience as a productive team member and team player as well as excellent spoken and written communication skills. The selected individual must have a passion for teaching and be able to articulate an understanding of, and an appreciation for, an urban, comprehensive, and open door community college. Job Description/Responsibilities: The individual in this position will be responsible for teaching a variety of music related courses each term. The individual may teach classes in on ground or online modes. Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience per the Master Contract.
