Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: > Knowledge of classical and jazz/contemporary theory. > Knowledge to develop curriculum and teach assigned courses. > Knowledge to communicate (written and oral) with a wide variety of students, faculty and others. > Proven skills as an accomplished teacher. > Skills in interviewing and placement of students. Preferred Qualifications: > A doctoral degree in music theory or performance from an accredited college, university, or conservatory, and proven record of successful teaching experience in higher education. Physical Requirements: > Ability to stand for extended periods during class Job Description/Responsibilities: The Utah Valley University Department of Music invites applications for the position of Lecturer – Music Theory. The successful candidate will teach music theory classes and may also include classes in pedagogy and literature depending on candidate’s qualifications.
