Qualifications:

To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need: - A minimum of a Master's degree in Music (specialization in Theory or Composition is required to teach MUSC 1101 and 1102)
- Current knowledge of pedagogical approaches in music theory and/or aural skills acquisition
- Demonstrated experience with relevant teaching resources
- Demonstrated experience in teaching music theory and/or aural skills acquisition successfully at the post-secondary level
- Demonstrated competency with moveable-doh solfege and Kodaly hand signs (if applying to teach aural skills)

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Work Arrangements: The Music Department is currently seeking to expand its list of contract instructors qualified to teach (QTT) theory and aural skills in the Basic Musicianship program.

Available courses for Fall 2017 are MUSC 1101 "Materials of Music I," MUSC 1102 "Basic Theory I," and MUSC 1104 "Aural and Sight Singing Skills I."

Workload is assigned each year based on available work.

The Role: Contract instructor -- Basic Musicianship program

Responsibilities: You will be responsible to:
- teach one or more of the following courses: MUSC 1101 "Materials of Music I," MUSC 1102 "Basic Theory I," MUSC 1104 "Aural and Sight Singing Skills I
- assess and evaluate students' progress and achievement


Salary Range: In accordance with the current Collective Agreement
