Institution: Carleton College Position: Assistant Professor General Information: Carleton College invites applications for a tenure-track position in composition to begin August 31, 2007. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor. Qualifications: The Department of Music seeks a composer with a breadth of experience in and continuing composition of a wide range of music. Doctorate (Ph.D. or D.M.A.) required. Exceptional ABD candidates will be considered if the degree is substantially complete. Job Description/Responsibilities: In addition to the teaching of composition, the position requires classroom teaching in a liberal arts curriculum and the ability to serve as mentor and advisor to students with the range of intellectual, personal and cultural backgrounds typical of the Carleton student population.
