ABD in music theory or related discipline may be considered. Doctorate must be completed by September 2007.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctorate in music theory or related discipline. Demonstrated success in teaching at the university/collegiate level. Evidence of potential
for continued scholarly contribution to the profession.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The NAU School of Music seeks a professionally energetic, creative, collegial, and dedicated specialist in undergraduate music theory and ear training for a tenure-eligible, assistant professor position. The candidate will be expected to provide leadership in the development
and restructuring of the undergraduate core music theory curriculum. Expertise in music technology as it relates to the teaching of music theory and ear training is essential. The candidate should also possess a comprehensive knowledge of analytical techniques appropriate to tonal, modal, and post-tonal music, including Schenkerian music theory.
