Position: Lecturer in Theory and Composition

General Information:

The School of Music at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA, seeks to hire a Lecturer in Theory and Composition to begin August 2018. This is a full-time, continuing position focused on teaching undergraduate courses and participating in service at the school, college, and/or university levels.

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:
+ Master of Music degree or higher (Ph.D., DMA, or ABD)
+ Demonstrable success in classroom teaching effectiveness at the collegiate level
+ Demonstrable success teaching in music composition (classroom and/or private instruction) at the collegiate level

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Demonstrable keyboard proficiency
+ Experience with recent music theory pedagogy and pedagogical materials (textbooks, etc.)
+ Aural Skills experience with movable Do solfeggio

Salary Range: unspecified
