Institution: New England Conservatory of Music Position: Music Theory Faculty General Information: The New England Conservatory of Music is seeking a dynamic and versatile artist scholar to fulfill curricular needs, specifically in teaching undergraduate-level core music theory curriculum. Qualifications: -Scholar of distinction, preferably with a PhD or DMA. -A minimum of 2 years of experience with undergraduate courses. -Demonstrated commitment to teaching musicianship skills Commitment and ability to ability to teach fixed-do Solfege in tonal and post-tonal context. -Background in performance with Conservatory training at the graduate level of education (MM or DMA) -Strong knowledge of practical facility in musicianship skills including fundamentals of music theory, harmony and analysis, and ear training. -Excellent analytic skills and the ability to apply music theory to performance of common practice and 20/21st century repertoire.
