Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: An active, accomplished, professional composer with experience in music for various media (film, video games, TV, etc.). Master\'s Degree required.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous college teaching experience desirable. Doctorate preferred.

Job Description/Responsibilities:


The Department of Composition Studies at the University of North Texas College of Music is searching for an Assistant Professor whose duties may include but are not limited to the following:
teach applied composition lessons and related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels with an emphasis in music for film, video games, and other media.
In addition to courses in the Composition Division (College of Music), the candidate will teach one course per year in the Department of Media Arts (College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences).
Develop media composition curriculum in collaboration with area faculty and administration.
Recruit and advise outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in music composition (media emphases).
Contribute to relevant, intersecting activities of the Center for Experimental Music and Intermedia (CEMI) and the Initiative for Advanced Research and Technology in the Arts (iARTA).
Maintain professional activity and a national/international presence as a composer of music for commercial media. Service assignments to be divided between the College of Music and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.
