Institution: Dalhousie University Position: Instructor in Music (Musicianship) General Information: The Fountain School of Performing Arts (FSPA) at Dalhousie University invites applications for a ten-month 75% full-time limited-term appointment, at the rank of Instructor in Music (Musicianship), commencing August 1, 2018. The position is subject to budgetary approval. Qualifications: The qualifications required for this position are a Master’s level degree in music with demonstrated competence in and enthusiasm for teaching aural skills and music theory. Evidence of effective teaching ability and experience at a post-secondary level is required. Job Description/Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the equivalent of three (3) full credit core courses in aural skills, core courses in music theory including diatonic and/or chromatic harmony, and music analysis (common-practice and/or twentieth- and twenty- first century analysis), as well as a course in the history of jazz.
