Institution: Central Michigan University Position: Assistant Professor General Information: Full-time, 10-month, tenure-track position. APPOINTMENT: August 15, 2007. Qualifications: Doctoral degree in music theory or related area (ABD candidates considered), successful college teaching experience, and qualifications to teach in related areas. Preferred: College-level teaching experience in related areas, ability to teach courses in musicology, and established program of research and scholarly activity. Job Description/Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory, aural skills, counterpoint, musicology, and related areas. Assist with School of Music student recruitment initiatives. Teach in other music areas subject to the candidate's expertise and the needs of the School of Music. Maintain an active research, creative, and service agenda commensurate with standards of a Carnegie doctoral/research-intensive institution. Salary Range: Salary commensurate with qualifications.
